A Week In Looks | Flower beauty, Kaleidos Makeup, Limecrime & More…

I was feeling a little lost and in a rut when it came to being creative with my makeup, especially because brands have started to roll out their new releases and holiday collections! As exciting as this is, it can sometimes get a little chaotic. So I decided to take a step back from the Youtube and Instagram beauty world as it can get a little product heavy and trend focused, and I wanted to just play around with makeup and wear what I WANT haha!

Alongside the looks, I will include a round up of the key products I used, but not all of them as it will probably get repetitive.

Flower Beauty Light Illusion Foundation & Concealer-
I absolutely adore this foundation as it manages to add a luminous glow without sacraficing coverage. The concealer on the other hand is a bit of a miss for me! I find that the more I blend it out, the more thick and gluggy it gets on my skin. It doesn’t have the same luminous finish as the foundation and it creases more than anything I’ve ever used before. It’s a no for me…

Bourjois Healthy Mix Sorbet Blush in ‘Apricot’-
This lightweight serum blush gives a subtle yet radiant tint to the cheeks! I love this tone paired with warm eyeshasow looks.

Colourpop So Jaded Palette-
I always find myself gravitating back to this jewel toned dream of a palette and I find it hard to use anything else afterwards. Colourpop manages to constantly release high quality shadows for affordable prices, but this shade range impresses me the most as I have never come across shades this unique before! And better yet, they are incredibly pigmented and blend effortlessly.

Maybelline Superstay Matte ink in ‘117 Ground-breaker’ and Limecrime Velveteen in ‘Squash’

Napoleon Perdis Holographic Palette-
I was drawn to this palette because it’s full of duochrome pastels, yet they are a little hard to use. I’ve found they don’t really show up on a white base but they completelty transform over a black base! I used the blue shimmer shade ‘initiator’ over the top of the Napoleon Gel Liner in ‘Yin’, and it turned into a frosty navy!

Nars Liquid Blush in ‘Torrid’

Hourglass Vanish Highlight stick in ‘Champagne Flash’

Burts Bee’s Lip Shine in ‘Spontaneity’-
The lip shines are so underated, and they add the most juicy sheer colour to the lips without feeling sticky or heavy!

Kaleidos Escape Pod Palette-
This palette is well worth it for the shimmer pigments, but I found myself having some trouble blending the mattes. So, I wanted to try and find ways to incorporate them into other looks so they get some love. I applied the pastel purple all over the lid and layered the periwinkle blue over the outer corner, by blending the blue into another shade it was less patchy and temperamental. Then to finish it off, I put a sheer layer of the Revolution Glitter Glue on inner corner and topped it with a peachy champagne shimmer.

Huda Beauty Tantour in ‘Light’

Maybelline Cheek Heat in ‘Rose Flush’*-
I was gifted this blush and I instantly fell in love with it’s lightweight mousse consistancy! But unfortunately, this is the only colour from the range I’d recommend. I had heard rumours of these blushes being almost too sheer and a waste of money, but in trying this one I thought that it was possibly just user error. But when I went and picked up a few more shades, I found that with the rest of the shades this is the case. No matter how much product you use, it just doesn’t show up. I would recommend this once particular shade, but the others in this range are a miss.

Revolution Maxi Reloaded Mattes Palette-
I had seen a look similar to this on pinterest from the user @chevleia and I wanted to create it using some of the soft yellows in this palette. Considering I am not a huge fan of large palettes like this, I suprisingly get heaps of use out of it as it is super fun to play with and it’s colour range is not too intimidating!

Mecca Cheek Tint Duo in ‘Rose’

Mac Mineralise Skin Finish in ‘Give Me Sun’

Nyx Liquid Suedes in the shades ‘Vintage’ and ‘Club Hopper’-
I pulled out my trusty liquid suedes to create this burgundy mauve lip and I am still so obsessed with this formula. They have a lightweight whipped texture and smooth over the lips with ease, leaving behind a soft matte finish. I love the bold yet simple pairing of the eye makeup with this lip combo.

Limecrime Venus XS Quad –
I bought this mini as a way to test out the Limecrime eyeshadow formula, and unfortunately I don’t find myself reaching for it very often. I love the finish of the two shades on the left side but the light pink and shimmery burgundy arent colours I find myself interesting in. I think I will be passing this onto a friend who might use it more often.

Colourpop Liner in ‘Piggy Bank’-
I loved this eyeliner so much but it’s getting old, so I’m trying to use it before it dries up.

Luma Blush Stick in ‘Blushed Nomad’-
This product from Luma is a forever favourite in my collection. I have used up a WHOLE tube of this rose gold blush and the highlight stick and will recommend it to anyone and everyone!

I hope this was a fun post!
Thanks for reading xx
